I believe that in today’s food environment, we must supplement and do so efficiently and correctly. Most of us have limited budgets for our health, so staying healthy should be a priority, rather than suffering the physical, emotional and financial expense of illness. I try to simplify everything, minimize cost, and aim for maximum benefit. Please do not waste your money if you have not learned these basics necessary for getting everything else to work.
Here are the basics:
Trace Minerals: At least 3 grams of ionic trace minerals every day or more than 3 grams of my electrolyte formula for those with high calcium and low potassium, 90% of the world population. The correct Electrolyte Formula is only available through www.calciumlie.com and www.AuroraHealthandNutrition.com websites. Just click on “order products” or call directly 907-260-6914.
Please Note: I may discuss specific products and recommend them if they work for me or my patients and there is science behind them and proof the treatment works. By no means does that mean you should buy them from my site. You do bless me if you do. Thank you. But, this is not about money. This is about aging and health fullness.
Whole Food Vitamin C: Innate Response Whole Food C is the best I have found. Take 800 mg two times per day. Be absolutely sure you have the real C. All ascorbic acid and ascorbates are not C. They are drug-like chemicals that are found in the C molecule. Each piece of this molecule has important effects, some good, and some bad, but the real C has no known bad effects in humans. You die without whole vitamin C. Vitamin C deficiency is scurvy (“the hemorrhagic disease”), something you see commonly in older people who bruise easily.
All cardiovascular plaque is a healing response to vitamin C deficiency. Ascorbic acid will deplete the real C from the body. So, Centrum Silver and Emergen-C are not vitamin C, neither is store bought pasteurized orange juice. Most supplement companies lie and misrepresent their products. They will try to sell you the kitchen sink of supplements. It is a lot simpler than that. Please do not be deceived about your C. You want the candy bar, not the wrapper.
Ascorbic acid is not vitamin C. In The Calcium Lie 2, we call this the Vitamin C lie.
Iodine: Most of us need at least 12.5 mg daily. Unfortunately, bromine is a toxic iodine neutralizer that has invaded our bodies through our food, especially berries and all flour containing products, for over 30 years. Iodine is essentially the only antidote to bromine toxicity, but it only works if you take enough. I recommend at least 12.5 mg per day. This is the amount of iodine consumed by the average Japanese person daily (13 gm). They have a 40% lower risk of breast and prostate cancer. I take 50 mg per day. Dr. David Brownstein who wrote the book, takes 75 mg per day. The only reason not to take iodine is undiagnosed hyperthyroidism or Graves Disease (autoimmune disease), untreated, or from toxic nodules. These are rare and not easily mistaken. There is no known toxicity and if you take too much, it will simply be excreted in your urine.
Rice bran: You can get this at most health food stores and some grocery stores. Bob’s Red Mill is the most popular but there are other brands that have licensed the patented stabilization process. I know of no significant differences in their value. This supplement is loaded with Vitamin B1, Vitamin B3, and B6, plus at least 69 other nutrients. For about $5.00 per bag, it is the best nutritional value there is, no exceptions. Add it to salads, soups, smoothies, anything. Once opened, put in an airtight container and refrigerate or freeze it.
That’s about it. Of course, f you haven’t got the message by now, you need to know your mineral levels and balances. You can only get this with a hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA). Please, never take calcium supplements unless you know you need it based on reliable HTMA results.
